Upcycled climbing gear
Climbing ropes that can no longer hold a fall don't have to end up in a landfill. We turn them into sturdy, colourful key fobs and belts for everyday use, each one cut and sewn by hand.
Why we do it
Hundreds of pounds of synthetic climbing rope are thrown out each year. The rope is retired for safety, but the material is still tough, colourful and built to last.
Every piece we make is rope that stayed out of the landfill.
Climbing rope is made to take a beating, so the things we make from it are too.
Every rope has its own colours and pattern, so no two pieces are exactly alike.
What we make
Made from de-cored rope, stitched flat and finished with metal hardware.
A wrist-sized loop of rope with a key ring and D-ring. Easy to grab, hard to lose, and available in whatever colours the ropes come in.
Colours vary by rope
Two or three rope strands sewn side by side and fitted with D-ring or rectangular buckles. Made to your waist size.
Made to measureHow it's made
Every piece goes through the same handmade process.
We pull out the rope's inner core so the outer sheath lies flat.
The rope is washed, cut to length and the ends are sealed so they don't fray.
Strands are pinned flush and sewn together with a strong zigzag stitch.
The ends are folded over the hardware and stitched down for good.
